PIONEER AWARD
The Pioneer Award is to recognize individuals or entities which have through their actions have contributed to and supported beekeeping in the health and well being of honey bees though research, advancement of methods, technology and sharing of knowledge. The recipient does not necessarily need to be a beekeeper.
The recipients of the Pioneer Award are given a life time membership in the Illinois State Beekeepers Association. If they join an ISBA affiliated beekeeping association, they need to advise the association they are a pioneer award member and do not need to pay the ISBA dues. Depending on the association, they may still need to pay their local association dues minus the ISBA dues portion. It is up to the affiliated association to decide whether or not to forego the local association dues for the Pioneer Award members of their association.
This award is not a yearly award and may be bestowed upon a recipient as the ISBA Officers and Board of Directors deem appropriate.
